Who knew that breast pumps would look good when paired with Versace haute couture? Canadian actress Rachel McAdams proves that you can look like a supermodel while breast pumping.
Rachel McAdams for Girls. Girls. Girls. magazine
McAdams posed during a photo shoot for Girls. Girls. Girls. magazine when the magazine’s founder, Claire Rothstein, shared the image and her thoughts on Instagram.
Rothstein explained the story behind the image. She stated that the shoot happened six months after McAdams gave birth to her son and is now a working mom. In between shots, she noticed that McAdams was, “expressing/pumping as still breastfeeding.”
“A million reasons why I wanted to post this picture. Obviously #rachelmcadams looks incredible and was quite literally the dream to work with but also this shoot was about six months post her giving birth to her son, so between shots she was expressing/pumping as still breastfeeding.”
Rothstein stated that she posted the photo of McAdams in hope that it might change the negative perspective about breastfeeding. She explained that breastfeeding/breast pumping shouldn’t be seen as a negative thing for it is a child’s basic need.
“Breastfeeding is the most normal thing in the world and I can’t for the life of me imagine why or how it is ever frowned upon or scared of. I don’t even think it needs explaining but just wanted to put this out there, as if it even changes one person’s perception of something so natural, so normal, so amazing then that’s great.”
The magazine founder also left a side note that when she does breastfeeding/pumping, she didn’t look anywhere near fabulous like Rachel McAdam in the cover. Nonetheless, this photo proves that mothers, in whatever look or form, should celebrate their roles.
